Continuing through the Comox Valley, Courtenay is only 20 kms south and offers a myriad of arts, cultural and historical experiences. The Courtenay & District Museum & Palaeontology Centre boasts a complete 12m long x 39 ft high elasmosaur. And let’s not forget the Cumberland Museum and the Comox Air Force Museum or the Vancouver Island MusicFest - the area’s largest annual musical event - held in Courtenay on the Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds.
Comox is just minutes from Courtenay and is home to the Filberg Festival, an annual event taking place in August on the grounds of the Filberg Heritage Lodge & Park. This festival features a vast array of select, locally produced arts and crafts. Kitty Coleman Woodland Gardens, near Courtenay and a mere five minute drive from here, is a garden and nature enthusiast’s dream.
